And so it begins...

After a surreal few days of hurricane sandy and the aftermath (many many thanks to Shannon and Grant for hosting us and for having the foresight to buy a generator AND Folgers coffee bags), we are here in the hotel near JFK. Our flight is scheduled to leave tomorrow morning at 10:05am, stopping in Panama (a balmy 83 degrees) on our way to Quito, Ecuador.
