Eating and Attitude

Still wearing the hat, but the next day...eating the spoon.

Bailey is smiling...

because she's tickling his toes!

But watch out, cause she can throw some New York ATTITUDE. ;-)

My new hat

When we returned from NY, we had family dinner at Tia Silvia's -- with Leah and KJ back in town and doing the cooking (yum!). G received this dashing new hat from his Tia (from her trip to Jamaica, of course!).

OK, so he's not wearing the hat in this one, but isn't it just such a cute shot? :-)

Horse and Carriage Ride

After the zoo, we decided to see the rest of the park via a horse and carriage ride...

Grandpa giving G a lift on the way.

N making sure that G was fueled up for the ride.

At last, in the carriage -- look, something shiny!

N and G enjoying the scenery.

Grandma, G and me -- looks like G is more interested in the Bjorn snap.

And Grandma's hand.

Here we all are in the carriage (no pix of the horse, but G did get to pet him after the ride).

Central Park Zoo

Little G as a rabbit (there were some VERY BIG rabbits there).

The goat liked to nibble G's fingers (and, of course, the story of me "eating raisins" was told).

Auntie Pattie snuggling G.

Uncle Ernie (master of helping babies fall asleep) snuggling G.

Playing in NY

Oooh, I love the way the sand feels between my dancing toes!

Waaaahhhhaaaaaweeeee! My first time on the slide!

Sliding all by myself (with a little help!).

New York, New York

I had the opportunity to travel to NY City for a work event, and so Noelani and Gabriel tagged along and we stayed for the weekend. My folks and my sister's family met us in the city and stayed over, too -- it was a family reunion in the Big Apple! Here are some of the pixs...

G kickin' it in his big hotel bed.

Yeah, but they don't have any high-chairs here.

Of course that won't stop me from eating...

Out to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa...checking out Grandpa's ring.

It's soooo big -- wish I could chew on it!

6 months old

The 6 month old photo...we think he's a little taller.

But it was hard to tell because he didn't want to sit still!

Here he is, posing as a 6 month old with Noelani.

And here he is showing off his"big boy" carry (sitting on the hip).

I really really like food!

Check out this video of Steve feeding me some yummy avocado...(you have to turn your head sideways to see it...sorry about that)...

Rice Cereal

The new food for this week is rice cereal. He had his first sampling today, which was a success! What can I say, he likes to eat! ;-) He can also been seen here, gnawing on an artichoke leaf (I don't think he actually ate any of it, but it entertained him for a while).

It's official (as if it somehow wasn't before)

Both of our names are on the birth certificate. We have an anonymous donor and we used my egg and N's uterus (yes, and the rest of her body that went along for the ride!). We are registered domestic partners in the fine state of California. This gives us *most* of the rights of a married couple, including that a baby born into our union is legally both of ours. But...what about all of the other fine states...what would they think? To be sure that we were protected, we decided that I should adopt G. It was a long process that involved a lot of paperwork, but the final step (going to the courthouse) was very simple and fun. Bailey, N, G and I went last Friday morning, June 29th. We didn't have to wait too long, and while we were waiting, we saw another couple that we knew (friends of friends) that we had actually given N's milk to when their baby was born. That was very sweet. The judge was very nice. It must be a relaxing way to end the week to do adoptions all day. Afterwards we celebrated by going to brunch at The Full House (our favorite diner). :-)

I like avocado

Gabriel ate his first solid food -- smushed avocado! He really liked it! :-)
