Weekend with Lisa and Easter Eggs

"Oh my goodness, it's Gabriel!" - EB

"I found my first egg" (note the dusting of power from the apple cider donut)

You had to find 5 eggs and you also had to find 5 bunnies and for each bunny, you had to put chalk on one finger on your right hand...it was seriously a complex task...

Not to mention all the running around in the hay maze.

Luckily, we had help along the way (this is Lisa, my college roomie!)

See, Lisa already has a few eggs in her bag!

"See that board over there? We need to run there in the pouring rain to determine which fruit or vegetable is our lucky fruit." (this, of course, was determined scientifically based on the pattern of chalk colors on your fingers)

"Hmmm...was it worth it to get soaking wet? Let me see that treat bag and I'll let you know!"

(it was worth it)

The next day, the rain had passed and left us bright green pastures...

(aah, someday we'll make it to Ireland, but until then I'll ramble upon these hills...)

With my red-haired lassie,

and a red-vested lassie,

and one little lad.

Wheeeeee!

Oh, yeah, and SALT!

"Yeah, ya know, just hanging out in the woods chewing on onion grass. I'm cool like that."

Ah, Noelani is the cool one, she found the onion grass and dug diligently to uncover the little onion/garlic thingy at the bottom. We all tried it...yum!

Then it was off through the woods...

and over the stream...

and, um, in the stream!

"Watch me shake my butt!"
(I think he learned this as part of the Chicken Dance...?)
"Let's make snow angels in the sand!"

Needless to say, it was time to go home after that...

On to egg coloring, using a special Ukrainian technique that Lisa taught us.

Melted wax drawing...

Combined with your traditional PAAS coloring.

Pretty cool!

The full dozen! Happy Easter to all!

Smile of the day

I have a new set of photos from the weekend to post, but no time today. So, I'll just share this one...
