We went to a coffee, sugar cane and banana farm where we got see the coffee and sugar can alcohol processes. The coffee is shade grown under the banana trees. This eliminates the need for clear cutting and allows two crops to be grown together in less space. It also reduces soil depletion and increases crop productivity.
