This was Gabriel's first "real" camping trip, sleeping in a tent with a sleeping bag (and two moms and a dog, luckily it is a big tent). He had a blast and we are definitely going to do it again!

Salt came with us, but had to stay on leash most of the time (and drive for 6+ hours in the car, each way). We think she might possibly want to stay home next time. ;-)

"Don't forget to bring the hammock -- that's the best part!"

"Wheeeeee!"

Most important part about camping (and every morning) is coffee.

Another key camping requirement is having a lake nearby (and a Mama willing to go in it with you, while Mommy sat in the shade).

It's also fun to spend some time chilling in the tent, opening and closing the headlamp to take out the batteries and put them back in.
Wildlife included, but was not limited to...

chipmunks (sooooo cute, and possibly the highlight of Salt's trip)

and bears (soooo soooo cute, and definitely the highlight of Noelani's trip)!

At the start of our 3.5 hour hike on Bumpass Hell trail (really, I did not make that name up).

At the end of our 3.5 hour hike (G's still running!).

Gabriel fell asleep all 3 nights before the fire festivities, so the next weekend, at the cabin, we roasted marshmellows...

what it lacked in atmosphere it made up for in gooshy yummy sweetness!
