OK, so after you make it through the first year, it seems that the monthly milestones are less momentous. It took me a few days to even take the monthly picture (we've decided on a new format, since getting him to stay on the blanket doesn't seem to fly). Here is a little update...
- He has yet to take another unassisted step after we took the video. I assume that he figures since he did it already he doesn't need to do it again. He has developed a "speed-crawl" that we equate to running.
- We are enjoying some very warm weather, so G has had the opportunity to go barefoot a bit this week, which I think he's enjoying. He's also enjoying the park a lot.
- He is also becoming quite the dancer (see video).
- He continues to only have 2 real teeth on top and one little sharp bird tooth on the bottom. Regardless, he is a voracious eater.
- He is quite chatty and seems to learn a new word every day. He can "say" cat, dog, flower, cheese, keys, mama (yes, it is soooo incredibly sweet), banana. He knows the difference between different animals (sheep, cow, horse, pig, monkey, lion, dog, cat, fish). He seems to understand a lot of what we say (and often actually does the things we ask him to do, which I know will change when he's older, but we are enjoying it now). He LOVES to read.
- He seemed ready to move to one nap a day, so we've started that, but the transition is a *little* rough. Today he only napped once, for 45 minutes. That is not enough. He was falling asleep at the dinner table (which was incredibly cute, but a little sad).
- We have introduced him to his very own potty seat. It's not actually potty "training" (it is too early for that), it is potty "learning". He is learning what it is and what it is for, and that the thing most people do on the potty is READ. ;-)
- He is addicted to electronics (iPod, Blackberry, cell phone, CD player, camera). We are not sure how this happened.
- He does not like to be licked in the face by dogs (we expect this to change as he gets older).
- He does like to stick out his own tongue when he is thinking or working hard.
OK, some pictures now:

13 month pix - we will use his bookshelf as the measure for this year.

Happily removing items from the bookshelf.

Tongue out while he's on the move.

Reading with his mama.

Happy with his newest singing card (from his Grandmama...oops, we opened it before Feb 14th!). See the video below for G and his card in action...
